Top 100 Influencers
The National Federation of Builders has published its Top 100 Most Influential Women in Construction nominations for 2022.
The Top 100 Influencers showcases the amazing role models we have within the industry, including people working on-site right through to the boardroom.
Claire Wright, our HR / SHE Director has been named as one of these inspiring influencers.
Claire comments “Like many I had no idea what I wanted to do after leaving school, I decided on a business/administrative route and at 18 was presented with an opportunity from a friend of the family who owned a recruitment service. They couldn’t find a secretary that worked well on a building site – if I could stick it out the job was mine!
That was 25 years ago and the best decision I ever made. In my role I have developed an award-winning Apprenticeship Programme and love nothing more than talking to young people and career changers about the fantastic opportunities in construction.
I am immensely proud of some regional and national awards achieved by the programme including National Apprenticeship Awards Regional Winner Champion of the Year and Nationally Highly Commended Winner for 2021. But nothing is as rewarding as seeing apprentices I put through the programme 10 years ago honing their skills and advancing their own careers within the industry.”
Danny Clarke, Commercial Director for the National Federation of Builders comments: ”We launched the Top 100 Most Influential Women in Construction Awards this year in order to celebrate the amazing women and their allies that are doing wonderful things throughout the Industry. Whilst its undeniable that we need to bring more females into the industry we also need to recognise the amazing people we have already working within it.
Unlike many influential lists that focus purely on senior individuals, the NFB’s Top 100 Women in Construction is fully inclusive and crucially showcases all the role models in our industry from Trainees and Apprentices right the way through to the boardroom”.
Well done Claire, we are immensely proud of your achievements.
