Rose Helps Support Local Foodbank

We have helped spread some Christmas cheer by supporting our local foodbank.

Through the generosity of our homeowners, staff, clients and contractors, we have manged to raise over £1200.00 which was then spent on much need food and toiletries.

As a fun way to try and raise the much-needed donations we invited homeowners from one of our largest new home developments, Lawford Green, to come and help decorate our Christmas tree. For every bauble placed on the tree a donation was made by us to the foodbank.

Alex Leader, head of sales comments ‘This year more than most we need to be supporting the local community. Nobody in this day and age should go hungry or not have access to basic toiletries. This is why local foodbanks are so important, helping to provide that much needed lifeline. We are delighted to help the Foodbank and will continue to support their efforts throughout the year.’

The Manningtree and District Food Bank has been able to help many individuals and families that have experienced various difficulties and just need some help to ‘turn the corner’. All it takes is a sudden, unexpected event – a bereavement, illness, redundancy and loss of a job to throw people into a genuine crisis. The Food Bank provides people with essential food supplies at a time when they need them most, covering the days or sometimes weeks before other parts of the social care infrastructure can come into play.

Kerry King, from the Manningtree and District Food bank comments ‘ Rose Builders input and donations have been absolutely humbling and astounding – we are delivering to over 100 families before Christmas and it is thanks to companies like Rose and all those who have donated food and money that we are able to do this.’
