New Early Years Facility, Lawford

We were delighted to be able to hand over the new Early Years Centre at Lawford Green to staff at Little Pumpkins Pre-School.

In attendance at the celebration was Councillors Carlo Guglielmi, Val Guglielmi and Alan Coley, Christina Halls and Diane Masefield, Essex County Council, staff from Little Pumpkins, the design team, Ingleton Wood, members of staff from Rose Builders who have been involved in the planning and build and parents who will be using the new centre.

Lily Green, Architect at Ingleton Wood, a Colchester-based property and construction consultancy, said: “We were thrilled to work with Rose Builders and Essex County Council on the new Little Pumpkins Nursery and used our wealth of experience within the education sector to design a light, welcoming and inspiring learning environment that allows the delivery of exceptional care and education for the Lawford community for generations to come.

“We worked closely with Rose Builders to ensure the architecture was designed in context of the Lawford Green Development. It was a pleasure to attend the fantastic opening event and see so many happy faces enjoying the new nursery.”

The Early Years facility was built as part of the S106 developer contribution of the Lawford Green Development and will provide a new centre for up to 30 places from ages 0 – 4.

The facility will provide three rooms catering for different age ranges – baby room, 0-2, room for 2-3 and 3-4, it will have an outdoor classroom (providing cover from the weather), staff office, reception, car parking and provisions for sustainable transport (bikes and scooters).

Tracy Starling, Little Pumpkins Pre-School commented ‘Our team are absolutely delighted to be able to get the new provision up and running and to welcome our families.’
