Lawford Unites to Celebrate VE Day 80

Last Thursday evening, the Lawford community came together in a spirit of unity and remembrance to mark the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day. At the heart of our celebrations, we proudly lit the Lawford Beacon, joining communities across the nation in a moment of reflection and gratitude.

Just as it was in 1945, this year’s VE Day commemorations remind us that our greatest strength lies in community. We gathered not only to celebrate peace, but to honour the bravery of our Second World War veterans and to learn from the stories of their courage and resilience.
