East Street, Braintree – Derelict brownfield site transformed

We were delighted to hand over the final homes at East Street, Braintree to CHP (https://www.chp.org.uk/) This development is their largest land-led scheme to date, transforming a formerly derelict brownfield site. The scheme provides 74 high quality affordable homes – 44 for affordable rent and 30 shared ownership.

A great initiative as part of the delivery of the site was the provision of 24 weeks onsite work experience spread between 7 students from Essex Youthbuild (https://www.essexyouthbuild.co.uk/) and a number of months work experience with our subcontractor Henrad Plumbing & Heating for a CHP apprentice.

Essex Youthbuild is a Chelmsford-based charity offering construction and employability skills training to young people aged 11-19 from all over Essex, our Apprenticeship Ambassadors worked closely with the charity to facilitate the implementation of this as well as visiting their workshop to speak with students.

Our team, working with Katie Budgen from CHP and Tom Puncher from Oxbury Chartered Surveyors have truly delivered an amazing scheme of much needed housing for the local area.
