Building Hero

Rose Builders is proud to celebrate the achievements of Paul Barnsley, who has demonstrated remarkable dedication and skill since joining the company in 2020. Paul’s journey began with a transformative five-week Building Heroes Course, where he earned his Level 1 Diploma in Multi-skills.

During the course, Paul had the opportunity to meet Claire Wright, Rose Builders’ Director of Training and Development. Impressed by his dedication and accomplishments, Claire offered Paul an apprenticeship position as a carpenter. He eagerly accepted, commencing his apprenticeship in 2020.

Paul successfully completed his Level 2 Standard in 2022 and is now in the final stages of achieving his Level 3 certification. His commitment to his craft and his growth as a carpenter are evident in every project he undertakes.

Paul is a strong advocate for mental health awareness, openly discussing his experiences and the importance of support systems. He credits his role at Rose Builders and the company’s unwavering support as vital to his success in his training and professional development.

Paul’s passion for older properties and heritage work has been a driving force in his career. His involvement in the restoration of St Nicholas Church in Rattlesden stands as a testament to his progress and skill. This project, close to his heart, highlights how far he has come since his initial training with Building Heroes and joining the Rose Builders team.

“We are incredibly proud of Paul’s achievements and the dedication he has shown throughout his apprenticeship,” said Claire Wright. “His passion for heritage work and commitment to his craft make him an invaluable member of our team. We look forward to seeing his continued growth and success in the years to come.”

Paul recently graduated with the latest cohort of tradesmen and builders, consisting of veterans from various branches of the armed forces, from the Building Heroes Education Foundation. During this time, he also had the opportunity to meet James Cracknell, who is currently running as the Conservative candidate for Colchester City.
