A House for Essex
New two bed house overlooking the Stour Estuary, designed to evoke a tradition of wayside and pilgrimage chapels, and to explore the historic and contemporary character of the county.
Clad in 2000 bespoke ceramic tiles, cast by Shaws of Darwen, Lancashire, from originals created by Grayson Perry. Completing the exterior is a copper alloy standing seam roof, adorned by three large, cast aluminium sculptures designed by Grayson Perry and F.A.T Architecture.
