Mistley is a charming village located just a short distance from the traditional market town of Manningtree, often claimed to be the smallest town in England. The local area enjoys a friendly, relaxed feel, with a fantastic array of amenities and excellent travel connections close by. Norwood Place is ideally positioned to enjoy it all.

Set on the banks of the famous River Stour, the village of Mistley enjoys an idyllic historical atmosphere, yet the things you require for today's modern lifestyle are on your doorstep. All your general needs are catered for either locally or in neighbouring Manningtree, including local shops, commuter links for work, schools, renowned restaurants,fitness and leisure facilities. There's plenty to keep sporting enthusiasts happy too with cricket, football, walking and sailing in the local area.

Manningtree, a town steeped in history, is just over a mile away and boasts a fine selection of beautiful Georgian and Victorian buildings, alongside an interesting collection of timber framed properties that date back hundreds of years – providing constant reminders of the town's rich heritage. Today however, it is a flourishing town with an eclectic mix of amenities. The town's traditional High Street, which runs parallel to the River Stour, is home to a good range of shops and offers everything from a florist, bakeries, deli, Tesco Express, newsagent and pharmacy – through to coffee shops, pubs and eateries. There is also a Co-op supermarket in the town, a local butcher and a farm shop for fresh groceries. In addition, a small weekly traditional street market offers a range of quality produce including everything from fruit & vegetables, flowers, meat & fish, through to home baked bread, cakes and pies. A monthly farmers market is hosted in close-by Lawford and occasionally some extra ‘themed' markets take place in the town.

Mistley and Manningtree are famous for the many swans that live in the estuary and a stroll down to see them at the water's edge, known as The Walls, provides an ideal opportunity to sit and watch the ever changing riverscape and birdlife. There's often a quality coffee van there too, so even on cold days you can warm up with a coffee made from freshly ground beans or enjoy a warming hot chocolate.

Food lovers are well catered for, with the award winning Mistley Thorn restaurant offering a delicious menu of seasonal dishes, utilising the best of the area's seasonal produce, whilst their sister restaurant Lucca, in Manningtree, offers traditional Italian meals and excellent pizzas. When travelling further afield, its easy to reach the A12 and A120 from Norwood Place's convenient location, making car journeys to Colchester, Ipswich and beyond a simple process. Mistley and Manningtree train stations are within easy reach and both have parking facilities. These well-served stations benefit from frequent services to London Liverpool St. in approximately, 70 minutes and 60 minutes respectively, using the fast service.

Mistley and Manningtree stations, just over half a mile and two and a half miles respectively, offer regular train services to London and everything it has to offer and provide good links to the regional hubs of Colchester, Ipswich and Chelmsford.
